Cheshire Schools' Sailing and Canoeing Association
Autumn Regatta - 2004
The CSSCA Autumn Regatta was held at
Budworth Mere on Saturday 16th October. 40 sailors from schools
and youth groups in the area contested for the various trophies.
The wind was light all day, eventually fading away totally which
meant that we could only hold four races out of the intended six.
In spite of the light conditions the competition was keen with
different sailors winning individual races.
Bridgewater was well represented, especially
in the Gold Fleet for more experienced sailors. Overall, Hannah
Wilcock (Y8) came third but she actually won her second race.
In the same fleet were Alex Sharp (Y9) and Charlie Faulkner (Y7).
Briony Sharp (Y7) won the Slow Handicap Fleet race and came second in the Novice
fleet. A great performance for her first CSSCA regatta.
All the sailors did extremely well
in the trying, light conditions. An excellent performance by
all.
