Starter: Interpreting vertical
line graphs Main: Pie charts (drawing/calculator and non calculator) |
||||||
| 7 |
Starter: give pupils information
about numbers of boys and girls in years 10 & 11 and get them to
put information into a two-way table. Main objective: construct and interpret two-way tables |

| 8 |
Main objective: drawing a
frequency diagram (histogram!) for grouped data with equal class
widths. Pupils should understand that bar charts are generally used for small sets of discrete data and they should appreciate the difference between a bar chart and a frequency diagram/histogram i.e. bar charts have gaps between the bars, histograms don’t and histograms have a continuous scale on the horizontal axis Pupils need to use graph paper!! |
