The ICT Curriculum @ Bridgewater – Key Stage 3 - Year 9

Year 9

ICT at Bridgewater in Year 9 follows the Key Stage 3 National Curriculum with units of work adapted from the QCA schemes; these units of work use different strands of ICT and involve a great deal of project work throughout. 

Student’s will produced several E-portfolio based units of work covering the following topics:

1. Modelling (spreadsheets).
2. Databases.
3. Investigating a problem (spreadsheets, word-processing, presentation and desktop publishing skills).
4. Website design.

Each student would have the chance of using the following software packages during Year 9:

• Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access & Publisher).
• Matchware OpenMind.
