End user Analysis: (MA)

Recap will be given of Systems life cycle (From As).

Students have been set the task of finding, interviewing and discussing the system with a REAL end user. They should produce for the first lesson an introduction, a description of the problem, a full detailed description of the information/data flow, and some analysis of the IPO’s

The students should also have evidence of an Interview log. (The details of what needs to be discussed are found in the coursework guidance.pdf)

A recap on what is required for these sections will be given and examples of IPO’s for a given system will be demonstrated. The students are to submit the initial sections of their coursework project.

Students will explore the concept of a GANTT chart and start a framework for their own project (Excel).

Review: (MA)
Pupils will reflect and improve on all aspects of the analysis completed so far with teacher 1 to 1 consultation.
Students will update their GANTT chart, super-imposing actual against predicted progress.  The project log should also reflect the time differences.

Design: (MA)

In class discussions will explain what is required for the data dictionary and all drafts for the design section of the project.
Students are to use the following templates to design their solution in class:
Table template
Relationship Template
Query template
Form Design Template
Macro List Template
Homework: To continue the solution design over Half Term

 FW
Design: (MA)
Students are continuing with design work, but focus will be around the testing strategy and pre-plan (No actual results or corrective action).

Class discussion will identify the need for testing and how to logically implement the process.
Students will use Open Mind software to mind map their testing strategy. The plan can be developed from a given template.
