9	Why was the war not over by Christmas? - Study the Schlieffen Plan (aims of it, why it failed).Concentrate on why stalemate developed.
10	Why did so many good men volunteer for the army? - Propaganda. Difference between reasons showing men wanted to join and reasons that imply men were pressurised to join
11	What was a conchie? - Why might people not want to fight in a war?  How were conscientious objectors treated during the war?

19	What was the purpose of war poetry and songs? - Study examples of poetry and songs to analyse their meanings and aims to see if the author was for or against the war. Look at possible reasons and motives for their views
20	How did WWI come to an end? - Study the key factors that brought the war to an end eg US entry into the war, Russian surrender, march offensive, German mutiny.
21 & 22	What was the Treaty of Versailles and how did the Germans feel about it? - Study the main terms of the treaty. Was the treaty justified or not and could the leaders have done better.
