The Year 7 course has only been implemented in September 2008. It brings alive the new national curriculum, incorporating fun topics and invaluable skills which will prepare pupils for KS3, KS4 and KS5 History.

There are six themes which will be focused on, and these themes will be consistent in Years 7, 8 and 9. This will allow pupils to see the 'bigger picture' - for example, to see how power has changed over time or to be able to discuss which individual has made the single biggest contribution. Each theme has a key question which will provide the focus and the knowledge to be covered.

Furthermore the new History curriculum includes a wide range of skill based activities which will allow progression, not only in History, but also across the curriculum subjects, helping to make pupils independent and analytical learners whilst developing their social skills.
