Why study GCSE History? History is an academic subject that demands you to think, evaluate, analyse and make judgements about causes, situations and people. It equips you with the ability to select and compare information, to understand why things happen and why some events must never be allowed to happen in the world again. Overall it is enjoyable and interesting, allowing you to understand  the world of yesterday and tomorrow and empathise with the people who lived through it all.

                                                                

How successful are we? The Bridgewater History department is very successful. The GCSE results for A*-C, over the last few years, have been higher than the school's average. Last year we achieved 91%

How is it examined? - Coursework comprises 25% of your grade, completed under classroom supervision.
Paper I (knowledge based exam on medicine and Germany/American West) is worth 45% and Paper II (source based on medicine) is worth 30%
