Kandinsky Clock
The Kandinsky clock project is a Product Design project with a strong focus on the totality of a flat packed product.  Students are required to research Kandinsky's work and produce designs for clocks which mimic his style.  Students gain experience of prototyping, shaping manufacture materials, designing for flat packing and packaging to name but a few.

Alessi Design
Again the Alessi project aims to increase students awareness of quality design, requiring students to design in the manner which makes Alessi products so appealing.  Pupils have  the opportunity to analysis 1st hand genuine Alessi products and use this to demonstrate their appreciation of his work in a very creative manner.

Re-arrangemant of Groups

After completing the 2 projects above students will have made options choices. Groups will then be re-arranged into those opting for GCSE Technology and those that are not.

Those opting for GCSE will produce a keyring using CAD/CAM. First they will make a design for the keyring using 2D Design. they will cut the design on the laser cutter at upper school then, make a package for the keyring, using Photoshop.

Those students who have decided not to opt for GCSE will do a range of short Graphics and Product Design projects. These could include making packaging for sweets or ice lollies, designing sportswear and making a small torch.
