Pupils undertake 4 design and make projects in the
workshop. Boardgame The automata project focuses on the use of simple
mechanisms, within a standard pine/acrylic chassis. The structure
of the chassis provides student with the skills to manufacture products
in a more modern, realistic manner. There is opportunity for
students to design a background using CAD to be manufactured on our new
Laser cutter at upper school. This is very much a product design
project and is not intended to be a 'woodwork' exercise!!!! The doodlebug provides students
with an experience of basic electronics, designing a remote controlled
table top toy. Their is a strong focus on the target
market. Pupils gain experience using a range of components and
materials. |
