Appleton College News
Following the excellent GCSE results in the summer it was great to welcome back a lot of Year 11 into Year 12. They are settling in well and adapting to the changes
from school to 6th Form. It is good to see so many of them involved in extracurricular activities such as Young Enterprise, service in the community and a variety of sports. We wish them all well in their studies—many will be taking their first AS exam in January!

Key Dates for Year 11
January 31st—College Application forms due in.
February 3rd—GCSE and Beyond day.
March 7th—College Interview Evening.
July 1st –3rd Residential Weekend for new students (London)

GCSE and Beyond Day - Thursday 3rd February
This is the day when all Year 11 students become college students for the day. They will sample ‘A’ level lessons or vocationally based courses at Warrington Collegiate. All students also take part in a Motivational and Skills Seminar. More details to follow in the New Year.

All Year 11 students who are joining Appleton College in September are invited on a 3 day residential weekend in July.
Keep the first weekend free! July 1st –3rd.

Young Enterprise
Our Young Enterprise teams in year 12 have been busy with their business ventures over the past few months. They have been selling their products at a variety of venues including the College Open Evening and even face painting at a local primary school! I suspect a lot of parents will have bought or received Christmas cards from our young enterprise students.
Good luck to all involved!
