Science is taught to all students within the school. This begins with Key stage 3 Science (years 7-9) which culminates in the National SATs examination. In year 9 some students are invited to take an examination to be selected for studying three separate GCSE science qualifications. On being selected, they may then choose this as part of their options. They will take fifteen lessons of science over two weeks The majority of students will study GCSE science double award. They are taught ten lessons of science over two weeks. This is delivered by three science teachers specializing in biology chemistry and physics. The syllabus for separate sciences is OCR GCSE science 1981. The dual award science is OCR Syllabus B (Suffolk) 1977 |
