LAW at GCE Advanced Level
Law is a sub-department of the Department of History at Bridgewater High School/Appleton College. Uniquely within the College, it is studied through the medium of distance learning.
The College works in conjunction with a specialist tutoring company (Moorhouse-Black). Each student has a folder of study materials to work through. Each week, a one-hour session takes place, via a video conferencing link, with a tutor. The tutor guides the student through the various study activities. Assignments are then forwarded to the tutor for marking.
Quite clearly this study approach demands a high level of self-discipline from the student, who must work on self-study for four or five hours each week. However, it is a tried, tested and successful approach.
