Who will benefit?
Headteachers, Class teachers and
Governors in Primary schools who will be involved in co-ordinating and
delivering a foreign language course at KS2.
By 2010 all pupils throughout Key Stage 2 will have an entitlement to study a foreign language. This is the core of the government’s National Languages Strategy. Primary schools throughout the country are at different stages in the process of preparing for the compulsory introduction of a foreign language into the curriculum; this event offers delegates the opportunity to focus on the key issues and plan a staged process during the next four years.
What will the event cover?
The event will provide an overview of current national and regional developments and offer practical guidance in planning and implementing the National Strategy at Key Stage 2. Delegates will also have an opportunity to experience foreign language learning at first-hand.
